F.A.Q.

What is Spring Finds & One of a Kinds?

It is the spring craft market brought to you by Handmade Finds & One of a Kinds craft markets.  It is a showcase of local artisans offering unique and one-of-a-kind handcrafted items for sale.  You could easily find jewelry, paintings, photography, home decor, gourmet goodies, crochet/knit/sewn products, pottery, bath & body, woodwork and so much more!

If you have unique handcrafted items, we want to hear from you!

*We are sorry, but we will not be accepting applications from vendors who do not have a product line that is made by their own hands.  (ie: No Arbonne/AVON/Mary Kay, Scentsy, South Hill Designs, imported goods, etc.)

When will it be held?

Our spring craft market is scheduled for Sunday May 22nd, 2016 from 10am until 4pm.

Where is it?

Spring Finds & One of a Kinds will take place at the charming Ancaster Old Town Hall, located at 310 Wilson St E, Ancaster, ON L9G 2B9.

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Our unique craft market will be held inside the stunning Ancaster Old Town Hall.  This allows for a pleasant, climate controlled shopping experience for visitors and allows peace of mind for vendors that their hard work will not be subject to the outside elements.

How do I become a vendor?

Becoming a Handmade Finds & One of a Kinds vendor is easy!  Just click the link above to fill out the application.  Please read it over carefully and contact us should you have any questions or require assistance filling it out.  We will review your submission and contact those who have been selected by email with payment instructions.

Due to the overwhelming response for our shows, we cannot hold tables for vendors on expressed interest alone.  Only full table payment AND an application on file will ensure you have a spot in our show.  We accept payment through Paypal, e-transfer, cash or postal money order.

Payments will not be accepted without an application, no exceptions.

What is the table fee and what is included?

The table fee for one standard 8' table is $60 per table.  This does not include linens, so be sure to plan for table coverings.

Your table fee will cover such costs as insurance, venue rental, marketing & promotion.  In addtion to the dedicated event staff at your disposal all the way up to and during the event, you will receive regular email updates, and also have the opportunity to be a featured artist and recieve additional promotion for your craft.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that sometimes vendors may need to withdraw their tables for many reasons.  Upon receiving written confirmation of a vendor's intent to withdraw, we will refund the full table fee if received more than 30 calendar days prior to the event.  Half of the fee will be refunded for cancellations received in writing between 15 - 29 calendar days before the event.  There will be no refunds for less than 14 days notice of cancellation or no shows on the day of the event.

We request that any cancellations be emailed to us at handmadefindscanada@gmail.com with the subject line: Table Cancellation

What is expected of me as a vendor?

Our goal is to put on the best craft markets in the area with the most interesting vendors and as such we will always be working hard to promote our vendors, but success is a team effort.  We seek out the best vendors and the best locations in order to give you an optimal chance for success and the opportunity to showcase your unique craft to a wide local audience.

We expect our vendors to be responsive and engaged with us.  This means that we expect our informational newsletters/emails to be read and action taken if necessary.  Add our email address to your contact list and check your junk mail folders regularly to ensure something important is not missed.  We will not chase vendors and ask them to find and review items that have been sent.  We also expect our vendors to be present for the entire duration of the show.  Vendors that arrive late or leave early will not be invited to participate in future shows.

We promote madly, and expect our vendors to like and share the event website or facebook page to their websites and social media pages at the very least!  We do not expect vendors to promote full-time, as that is our job, but it is nice to see our vendors getting excited and sharing the event information.  If a vendor is not stoked about the market, how can we expect our visitors to be?

We are event planners, but we are also crafters with our own business goals.  We understand that by encouraging our clients to come out, we are giving others the opportunity to show their wares to a new audience and that also means that new people are going to be coming to see your items!  It is simply a win-win to promote the event a few times leading up to the day and generate interest in your own fans to come out and meet you.

What can I expect from the show hosts?

Your Handmade Finds & One of a Kinds team is devoted to your success because the vendors make the show!  You will have access to the team anytime of the day or night and you can know that your questions or concerns will be addressed promptly and courteously.  We will be promoting heavily on your behalf and on show-day, you will find that we have a dedicated event staff that are focused on delivering a pleasant craft show experience for vendors and visitors alike.

You can expect us to try to go above and beyond in any way that we can in order to make your experience enjoyable.  We are hoping to build long-lasting relationships with fellow crafters and artisans in the area for future collaborations and we love to support our local creative community.  You can absolutely expect Sara, Holli and Ang to passionately pursue artistic opportunities for the crafty and creative folk in the area and to try and deliver an exceptional craft market experience.

We gladly accept constructive criticism and suggestions for making events better, so don't feel shy if you have thoughts, comments or concerns.  We are learning new things all the time and strive to make each show better than the last.  We appreciate any feedback we may receive from past or present vendors.
